Two hatchlings emerged today in the sparrow’s nest under the covered porch. Mama sparrow was obviously planning this Mother’s Day tribute from the git go. The birdcam is live usually from sunrise to sunset. Here’s video of Ernie emerging from the shell (that mama would later eat for calcium), and one of Bert & Ernie clamoring for food.
I’m selling a selection of prints to help fund an upcoming trip on which, ironically, I will be taking yet more pictures at a friend’s wedding. I printed these particular images on hahnemuhle photo rag™ 308 g/m2, and they come mounted in 16×20, 4-ply (55pt., 1/16″ thick), acid-free, exeter™ conservation board (pH of 9.0 +/- .5, buffered with calcium carbonate), which I cut and mounted over various quiet, wonderful evenings at rayko photo center (a resource center for photography in a spacious building that houses darkrooms, a digital lab, studios, workshops, etc.). More details after the jump. Military force was authorized yesterday minutes after the E.T.’s 48 hour deadline had passed. The E.T’s were given an ultimatum to stop their whale poaching and leave Earth or face military action. Here’s a recent video update/primer on the repairs underway at CERN. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is being built in a circular tunnel 27 km in circumference. The tunnel is buried around 50 to 175 m. underground. It straddles the Swiss and French borders on the outskirts of Geneva.
the philodendron on the porch is sporting some impressive (IMHO) new growth this spring. Blue Jays: 4 Robin: 0 Well, it was fun to watch the bird cam for a few days while mama bird kept her four eggs warm, but in the end, after discovering her nest hidden cleverly in a hanging house plant, some nefarious blue jays absconded with her eggs and she was never to be seen again. The only evidence left: a disheveled nest, swinging gently in the breeze. |
