The Shamptonian Institute actively advocates and supports activities that improve living conditions and reduce suffering across the earth via:
+ eliminating poverty and providing food and shelter to those in need
+ access to safe drinking water, medicine and emergency disaster relief
+ promoting and helping to develop peaceful resolutions to military conflicts
+ drastically reducing the worldwide industrial emissions of CO, CO2, NOx, SOx
like the steve miller band, whose lyrics since 1976 have melodiously implored us to “…feed the babies, who don’t have enough to eat …shoe the children, with no shoes on their feet …house the people, livin’ in the street; ohhhh, there’s a solution…” so too, more than 30 years later, the Shamptonian Institute believes we can work with each other locally and globally to develop inspiring solutions that help improve humanity and the world.
In addition to the Shamptonian Institute’s humanitarian goals, the institute actively engages in the archival preservation of cultural media and maintains libraries which include:
+ postage stamps; worldwide (1815-present),
+ newspapers and print advertising (1929-present),
+ bound books (1706-present),
+ audio recordings; vinyl, 4-track, 8-track, and cassette media (1915-present),
+ other cultural and historical artifacts.
